Every figure on this site carries a named source and a date. This page is the standing record of what those sources are and what they are not allowed to do.

Breed premiums: none, by design

No insurer publishes a breed price list, and no public dataset of breed level premiums exists in a form anyone may republish. The breed premium tables that rank in search are built from one comparison site's own quote stream, which is proprietary. So this site prints no breed premium, anywhere, and will not until a licensable dataset exists and has been evaluated in writing.

What the numbers are

Breed facts come from the American Kennel Club and the Cat Fanciers' Association, restated as facts, never copied. Claim prone conditions come from named studies and registry screening programs. Every treatment cost range comes from one named source, printed beside the range on the page that uses it: the CareCredit and Synchrony Average Procedural Cost Study for the surgical ranges it publishes, university veterinary medicine sources, and insurers' own published cost guides where those are the sources that publish a range. Where no source publishes a range for a condition, the page prints none. Premium averages come from the North American Pet Health Insurance Association and are national figures only. State law comes from the NAIC Pet Insurance Model Act record, checked against each state's statute.

What is refused

Health testing rate statistics by breed are not published here. The registry that holds them has not granted this site permission to republish them, and unanswered permission counts as no. Screening test lists are published, because lists of recommended tests are facts, not statistics.

Worked examples

Every claim example on this site foots from its visible components: the bill, the deductible, the covered remainder, the reimbursement share, the payout, and what the owner pays. Deductible and reimbursement settings are labeled as example settings, because insurers set their own menus.
